Lake Havasu's London Bridge, The
Third Most Visited Arizona Attraction.

The Arizona Tourism Statistical Report for 2004 showed that the London Bridge was the number 3 most visited attraction in the entire state of Arizona. “The London Bridge was behind only Bank One Ballpark at number one and Tempe Town Lake at number two,” said Lake Havasu City Convention and Visitors Bureau Promotions Manager Jarrod Lyman. Bank One Ballpark boasted about 2.8 million visitors, compared to Tempe Town Lake’s count of 2.3 million. The London Bridge took the number three spot with about 2 million visitors.

The category of Top Natural Attractions was of course led by the Grand Canyon, with the top five rounded out by the Saguaro National Park, South Mountain Park, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

The report also outlined visitation for state parks, and once again Lake Havasu City was on the leaders list, this time at the number one spot. Lake Havasu State Park reported 384,928 visitors in 2004, well over 100,000 more visitors than the second highest park, Slide Rock outside of Sedona, which reported 254,584 visitors. Patagonia Lake, Kartchner Caverns and Catalina State Parks rounded out the top five, in that order.

“While the London Bridge is still a top attraction in the state, it’s obvious that numerous people are also coming here for the lake as well,” said Lyman. “These numbers are only those who launched at Windsor Beach, they don’t include Site Six, the Marina or other launch sites along the lake,” he said.
